Information to treat warts and verrucas

Information about how to treat warts and verruca can be found at:

Warts and verrucas are small lumps on the skin that most people have at some point in their life. They usually go away on their own but may take months or even years.

Warts and veViral warts (also known as verruca when they are on the bottom of the feet) are caused by the human papillomavirus.

Your body's immunity will recognise the virus once adequately exposed to it and get rid of it. When there is a lot of hard skin it can ‘hide away’. However, if you want to try and get rid of the wart sooner there are several options that can be tried. Your local pharmacist can help.

Genital warts can be treated at a sexual health or GUM clinic.
